From Culture in the UK to Arts in the UAE

After working in world-class museums and art galleries in the UK over the last ten years, I have decided to embark on a new adventure and continue my passion for arts and culture in Dubai.

I first fell in love the UAE in 2018, when I visited to attend Art Dubai and see the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, which had only very recently opened at that time. I was fascinated by the rich and vibrant arts and cultural scene across the country, with its own distinct flavor and personality. I recognized there was so much exciting potential with all of the great diversity and developments happening in the arts. On returning back home to Manchester, I wanted to make the move to Dubai to really get to know the vibe of arts in the city and explore creativity across the UAE. Recently I was presented with the perfect opportunity to do just that and I have been enjoying getting to know the arts scene across the UAE since.

Why I chose to settle in Dubai

Dubai is unlike anywhere else on the planet. The city is largely known for its bold architecture and audacious style, its shopping scenes and nightlife. The United Arab Emirates’ largest city is a distinct fusion of its Bedouin heritage and an ultramodern style, which is distinct and unique.

When I moved to Dubai, I soon realised it doesn’t just live up to its reputation; it completely exceeded them. Not many people are familiar with the arts and culture in this multifaceted city. There is so much to do and explore from chance encounters with public artworks to bold and innovative art galleries and exhibitions.
